This particular album, like with a few of the earlier collections, was written with a specific theme in mind. It's fairly subtle, from the titles and so forth, but fans of a fairly recent cartoon series might recognise the clues from the cover art, the chosen colour scheme, and the song titles. As I say though, it's not really all that obvious. He said mysteriously...

This little collection was also written specifically with the idea in mind that I wanted to make copies available to buy. There were various personal reasons for that choice which I don't intend to go into here, but also I wanted to see if it was actually possible to make a go of it. So this is the first album I've written that is available to buy.

With that in mind, I wanted to make very sure that the songs were exactly how I wanted them, and without wanting to sound like Billy Bighead, I was really happy with how they turned out. Of the various tracks, in particular I was really pleased with "Purple Sky" (there is a video here on Youtube) and "Forgiveness."

As there were a couple of tracks left over that didn't make it onto the album, for various reasons, I decided to work on those shortly after, putting them alongside an edited version of "Purple Sky" and that formed the basis of the "Purple Sky" EP.
